This is a beautiful Souvenir Sheet, issued in 2012 in Burundi, commemorating the 500 year anniversary of the death of Amerigo Vespucci (1452-1512). The stamp and sheet both feature images of Vespucci, the Italian explorer, financier, navigator and cartographer who first demonstrated that the New World was a separate landmass from Asia, and from whom the continent of America derived its name. The stamp also includes an image of a ship, and the sheet includes images of the ocean and of cherubs. The sheet is Michel catalog #2400/ B.212, and is Post Office fresh, mint never hinged, and F/VF.
