This is a beautiful souvenir sheet, issued by Guinea in 2012, featuring the 150th anniversary of the birth of Claude Debussy (1862-1918). The stamp includes an image of Claude Debussy, the composer who is considered a crucial figure in the transition to the modern era in Western music, and remains one of the most famous and influential of all composers. Also on the stamp is an Claude Monet's painting "Impression, Sunrise" (1874). The background sheet includes a paragraph describing Debussy's music, which evokes mood rather than concrete images, in much the same way Impressionistic painting does.
