This is a beautiful souvenir sheet, issued by Guinea in 2012, featuring Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948). The stamp and sheet both feature images of Gandhi, the preeminent leader of Indian nationalism in British-ruled India, and the inspiration for movements of non-violence, civil rights and freedom across the world. The stamp also includes an image of a Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris). The sheet also includes an image of the god Varuna on his mount, the crocodile Makara.
