This is a beautiful Souvenir Sheet, issued in 2012 in Mozambique, commemorating the 285th anniversary of the death of Sir Isaac Newton. The stamp features an image of Newton, the English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist and theologian, who has been considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived. Also included on the stamp is an image of the orbiting X-ray observatory called the XMM-Newton. The surrounding sheet includes an image of the planet Mars, and an apple tree. The sheet is Post Office fresh, mint never hinged, and F/VF.
