This is a beautiful sheet of 4 stamps, issued in 2012, featuring marine wildlife and famous oceanographers. The stamps highlight two different types of marine animals and two early oceanographers, who contributed to the study of marine life. Two of the stamps include images of Michael Sars, a Norwegian biologist who wrote extensively about marine animals, and the Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae). The other two stamps include images of Benjamin Franklin, the American polymath who helped map the Gulf Stream off North America through his observations of marine life, and the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin (Stenella frontalis).
