This is a beautiful Souvenir Sheet, issued in 2012 in the Republic of Guinea, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Hindenburg catastrophe of May 1937, when the German passenger airship LZ 129 Hindenburg caught fire and was destroyed during its attempt to dock with its mooring mast at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station, New Jersey. The stamp and sheet feature images related to the catastrophe and additional cultural icons of the time, including airship commander Hugo Eckener.
